Rating: ★★★★★(5/5) - Must Visit
Located on the U.S.-Canada border, this is one of the few Minnesota State Parks that does not require a vehicle fee. Intended for day-use only, this park is the perfect stop on any road trip to and from Canada. Hike to the waterfalls, view the exhibits in the visitor center, or have a picnic near the Pidgeon River.
The park only has two trails, but they both offer spectacular sights. The High Falls Trail is the most popular trail, providing a short, paved, accessible hike to the tallest waterfall in Minnesota. The Middle Falls Loop is a rugged adventure up and down ridges overlooking Lake Superior to a smaller but still impressive waterfall.
