One of the most popular Minnesota State Parks and possibly one of the most scenic places on the North Shore (and all of Minnesota), this park contains one of Minnesota's highest waterfalls and impressive cliffs overlooking Lake Superior. This is one of the only Minnesota State Parks with rock climbing, and there are miles and miles of trails for hiking and skiing in the winter. Camping includes one developed campground, a few cart-in sites, and many backpack sites.
This is an absolutely excellent place for hiking. Hike to Shovel Point for a scenic, family friendly trail with impressive views of Lake Superior. The trail to the High Falls is one of the most popular in the park. Hike to Mic Mac Lake for a more secluded trail with rental canoes at the lake. The Superior Hiking Trail crosses through the park for a longer adventure.
