White Butte is the highest point in the state of North Dakota at 3,506 feet above sea level. Thanks to the relative flatness and treeless prairie of the surrounding area, you'll have views for miles once you reach the top. Practically in the middle of nowhere, the trailhead is located on private property, but the landowners graciously allow hikers to park and climb to the top. Please consider making a donation in the dropbox near the parking area to offset the costs of keeping this trail open to the public.
